Hi Cindy,

Here is a picture of our Luca at the park with our son Johnny.
We are having a wonderful time with her.  She's an absolute
charm and is extremely smart.  I've never had a German
Shepherd that is so easy to train!

Hope all is well with the dogs.  We check the website often to
keep updated.

Hi Cindy,

I'm Isabel, daughter of Julia who managed to adopt the beautiful and magnificent Tara. First I would like to Thank You with all My Heart, Tara is the best pet (actually, pet doesn't cut it in the least...) we've ever had. She made a place in our hearts the moment we saw her, laying down in her crate having just flown thousands of miles.

In our little family we tend to talk about her more than we do our own lives -- one of my first questions (usually my first) to my mother when I call her is always "How's Tara?" I go to boarding school and unfortunately I don't get to see her everyday. My boyfriend says that's a good thing, because whenever I am at home she is mostly all I talk about. When I mention her on the phone his response tends to be "oh God..." if not in words than in a slight sigh, which of course provokes me into giving him a detailed description of our day together, describing what she ate that day, how we played in the backyard that morning and how she does this amazing trick which involves her using her paw to bounce her tennis ball into her mouth, I usually go into the hour long walks we go on up the street to a park where she gets to run around without her leash (she LOVES that, and I've never seen a more graceful and gorgeous animal in my life. My mother always says that "she looks like a deer"-- and she does. She's just so agile, I LOVE seeing her jump, and sometimes try to "trick her" into jumping over things, but usually she'll just run around the obstacle and gives me a look like "Did you really think that'd work?".) I always describe our games of tag as well, she's very skilled in that particular game and tends to enjoy chasing me more than she likes being chased.  On our walk back to the house there's a large group of kids who often storm the two of us (or three of us, when my mother's there in the afternoon),  she just gazes up at us with giant brown eyes seeming to say "Plleeeeease save me" but she just stands there and takes all the petting!

She really is one of the greatest joys of my life, and people very often have to tell me to shut up, about her and about German Shepherds in general, because I really could talk about her all day. Also, she photographs very very well, and my mother and I are planning on sending you a family picture quite soon, but getting her to stand/sit/lay still can be a challenge...you have to have her run around for at least an hour. She has unlimited energy and love for her people. One of my favorite things that she loves to do is sit on my mother and my lap. Whenever we sit down on the ground, which we tend to do quite a bit she always saunters over and gives us large puppy-dog eyes before curling up on one of our laps. She's so understanding too - whenever my mother or myself, sometimes both of us talk to her she really seems to understand and respond. Considering that Tara is one of the greatest joys in my life pictures of her, and us together cover one of my walls at school (my boyfriend always comments on the fact that there are more pictures of her than him on my walls -- I tell him that it's because I see him everyday...but the real reason is a secret that I think most German Shepherd owners hold. You can't even describe the love that you end up holding for your dog.)

To wrap it all up, Tara is absolutely amazing. She's brilliant, beautiful, and bold.  I can't even imagine having lived without her. She's the dog I always dreamed of having and is one of the greatest "sister's" I've ever had. (When we talk about her or to her we always make sure that she knows who Mom is and who her Sister is...and she certainly seems to have picked up on that.) I suppose what I really have to say is that you must have something in the water up there to end up with dogs as amazing as our Tara. We love her more than we can express!

Hi Cindy,

Sorry it has been so long since I last emailed but life has been very hectic of late.

Duke, Kayos' grandson qualified for Crufts again this year and also passed his
Bronze Good Citizen Award.

As I said before, I was really thrilled as I only dabble in showing and only do about
a dozen per year at the most.

Glad to see that things are going well with your dogs and that they appear to be doing really well for you.

Love to hear from you.

Take care,
Marilyn from England

Hi

 Dear Cindy,

It's been a while since I touched base with you, so I thought I would drop you an email and let you know how Gasco is doing.

Gasco has been doing really good at training.  We need to work a bit on the barking all the time when he is outside in the backyard, but otherwise he is very smart.

There is no doubt that Gasco is a  "momma's boy";  he is always by my side whether I am in the kitchen cooking, or in my office working, he is always laying by my side when he is not playing with Dutchess.

Here's a picture for you.

Take care...
Beth

Hi Cindy,
I just wanted to write and tell you that our Neela is the absolute smartest, sweetest, best tempered, most beautiful German Shepherd that anyone could ever have.
When we go to obedience classes everyone RAVES over her!  They say that she is the most beautiful & well behaved dog they have ever seen.
Another great thing is that she is so eager to please and is absolutely devoted to us.  She's also very, very intelligent.  She's also really funny...when we talk to her and ask her questions like "do you want to go for a ride?"..... she cocks her head from side to side.  She's so adorable!  She also Loves to go swimming.
Thank You Cindy for breeding such a wonderful dog for us!
Pictures coming soon ..... I promise!

Hi Cindy,

Here's a few photos of Kohl.  We adore him!  If we decide to give him a brother or sister next year we will give you a call (I am really working on my husband!)

Dear Cindy,

We would like to apologize for not getting pictures to you sooner. We have had one heck of a year.  I attached 3 of our favorite pictures so you could pick which one you would like to use.

We call her "Brooke".  She is absolutely wonderful.  She is a joy and a pleasure!  Brooke knows how to fly fish,  she actually follows the fly in the river. We have to be extra careful so she does not get hooked with the hook.

She is so loving and tender....just a big lap dog!  She loves the water and to be around people,
although she is very selective!

We would like to Thank you sooo much for our new addition. We will be looking for a male pup soon,
( obviously from you ) !!

Sincerely,
Jerry & Mary G.

Cindy,

I am sorry it has taken me so long to send this to you. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for our wonderful girl. We have a Packo x Kessi puppy from the "C" litter.  Cestja is the most even tempered, excellent focus, loving, beautiful dog I have ever had the privilege of owning.  I would like to thank you for your patience in answering all my hundreds of questions both before and after we took our girl home. My husband flew out from California to pick out our girl and was very impressed with both your kennel and treatment of your dogs.  2 weeks later we moved across the country and I can not believe how well she traveled.  She was awesome.  We have found Our Breeder For Life.  Please feel free to give our number to anyone who is considering adding one of your puppies to their family. We're planning on getting another pup from one of your new litters and  my Mother-In-Law also wants one!

P.S. More Pictures soon....I promise.

Thank you,
The Levones

Hi Cindy,.

Here are some pictures of Leo (Uri Von Fenwald) - He is just over eight months old, and we are so fortunate to have him as part of our family!!!  He is the best companion ~ he is intelligent, sensitive, playful and rambunctious, yet never aggressive with our other male dog, Jake.  He has the best temperament!!  He just exudes a certain confidence, and I would trust him with my Life.  He is very affectionate, and every time I bend over to give him fresh water in his bowl, he slathers my cheek with kisses.  I can't tell you enough How Proud I am of Him, and thank-you for breeding such magnificent German Shepherds!  We so love him!

Hi Cindy!

I just wanted to give you an update on our amazing German Shepherd boy, Tanno.  We have been involved in Schutzhund for one month now and can I just say, "WOW!"  First of all, as you know, we absolutely love the sport--it is an exciting time with a group of fellow dog lovers (most of us have & love cats and horses, too).  Second, it is an awe inspiring moment when I watched my sweet, energetic pup turn into a mature, playful, ball driven, bad guy chasin', sleeve biting dog.  Over the course of one month, Tanno, the smart boy that he is, has made leaps and bounds in his training and continues to grasp more of the sport of Schutzhund every day.  He absolutely loves the sport.  As soon as the green bag comes out (the Schutzhund bag), the ball and treats go in it, he is whining, pacing and circling--ready to go.  I swear,  I cannot open that door fast enough to get to the SUV. (Yes, we had to buy an SUV to go to Schutzhund because Tanno couldn't stay still in the back seat of Dodge Dually and almost caused a few accidents leaping back and forth in excitement.  And I wasn't about to put him in a crate in the back of the pickup bed, so it seemed only logical to get an SUV and a traveling crate.  He loves it.)  We have much more to learn, but we are just loving our time spent there with him.  He is still such a pup, but it is so rewarding to watch him mature each week with me.
The other bonus to Schutzhund is this new found way for my puppy to expel some energy out there.  At first, I was worried the sport wouldn't be favorable to having a child and cats living in the house with a Schutzhund dog.  Well, was I wrong.  Tanno is so pleasing to be around in the house.  The bond between he and my 3-1/2 year old son has also deepened even more.  I watch Aidan walk up to him now, Tanno's eye's melt with his approach, and Aidan reaches out and pets him.  It is truly a heartwarming moment to watch the two of them bond like that.  On our walks in the woods, Tanno wants to stay at Aidan's side to protect him if he get's too far ahead of me.  They are a pleasure to watch together.  Yes, we still have puppy moments, too, but he is only 9 months old!  He and the cats are doing well together, too.  Honestly, I think my cats tease him more than he teases them, so we let them work it out and they have so far.
That's all for now.  He is just breathtaking--in every way..... Looks, Brains, Heart and Courage.  You breed absolutely fabulous German Shepherd's!  Anyone even pondering the thought of purchasing a puppy from you should look no further!  We can't wait to meet our new  pup, we are sure she will be just as amazing as Tanno is.  Looking forward to talking soon to arrange our visit.

Take care and thank you so much for our beautiful Tanno.  Here's a photo of him.

Sincerely,
Kathy, Scott, Aidan and Tanno

Hi Cindy,

I just LOVE this wonderful puppy!  He is boisterous, active and full of life...he is also a loving, sweet boy who is finally learning to "give kisses, no biting" and "lets go out and potty".  We spend hours outside walking the grounds...he has wrestled 'full grown trees' and 'protected' me from the garbage man, a strange noise in the back of the yard after dark and a friend who knocked before entering my house.  His ears are starting to stand most of the time and I can see what a gorgeous head he already has.  Last vet visit he was 32.7 lbs. at 13.5 weeks and is not the least fat. Much, much bigger than a 14 week old GSD puppy we ran into at the vet's, but she was female. The bone is tremendous and the color is gorgeous!!

I may  investigate some of the local GSD Training Clubs here. Wonder if they have puppy showing?  I can't tell you enough how happy I am that I bought him!!! He is so bright, intelligent and alert...he will be a joy to train. We already know sit, drop (down), stand, wait, bring it and thank you (give it to me). Little problem heeling as he likes to lead (typical man), but we are working on it.  I'm sending 2 pictures so you can see how cute and big he is.
Hey Cindy,
His official name is Dantes Von Fenwald (remember I told you on the bronze bust of Dante, the spelling is actually DANTES). Still pronounced the same. I'm glad you convinced me that the other names I was considering were not as good as this one.

I'm so in Love with him. He gets more beautiful by the day. When he alerts to something and stops and stacks himself, he is breathtaking!! I'll send new pictures as I get them.

Good luck with the new puppies.

Dear Cindy,

I have no written in forever so I wanted to send you an update on Miss Tatianna. She is
doing wonderfully.

Her ears are all the way up and she is beyond beautiful. There is not a place I go where I
do not get compliments on her. She is by far the most beautiful German Shepherd anyone
in West Texas has ever seen. We walk almost every day and almost every time, someone
will stop in their car to tell me how beautiful she is. Makes a mother proud.

She is spoiled beyond belief. She was not going to sleep in bed with me but in her doggie bed.
Yeah right. It is a very good thing I have a king size bed or I would probably be in the dog bed.
She will lay her head on the pillow like she is a person and often gets up in the middle of the
night just to kiss me. She will just keep licking me and then go lay back down on her side...
I mean 3/4ths of the bed.

I am now going through a divorce and I can not imagine going through it without her. She is
Always there for me.

She is also in puppy school and the star pupil. She is definitely teachers pet. She has also
developed tremendous ball drive. She is ready for more advanced training.  She just loves
people, but she has great tracking ability. My trainer thinks she has great potential for
search and rescue.

Well, I just can not say enough about her. Just like you said, there is a vast difference between
a Good dog and a GREAT Dog. There is no question she is a GREAT DOG!  The most
beautiful, smart, Great confirmation and the perfect family pet. She has that little sparkle
in her eye and is just beyond wonderful. I will send new pictures as soon as I get my computer
at home back up. Until then, all the puppy kisses in the world to Tati's birth mother.

I will keep you updated because I just have to share the love. If you want to use my note on
your website, please feel free. I can not say enough about how wonderful she is and we would
be proud to be on your website.
Thanks for the puppy love!

Dear Fenwald....You have an excellent web site, and very informative. I found the views on commercial dog food informative. I never considered a retired dog before or a young adult, but your web site has given me something to think about. I have owned German Shepherds since I was ten years old, and I am fifty-two now. So over the course of time I have owned many different ones. My old breeder that I have used and trusted for the last thirty years, has got too old to continue any more. and my old dog is going on eleven years old, so I will soon be looking for another one. Thank you again.

Sincerely, John Slagle

Dear Fenwald Kennels,

I just had to write and tell you how much I enjoyed your website and viewing your magnificent dogs.  I am heartened to see such professionalism and caring in your life's work of raising such wonderful creatures.  I recently adopted a young female rescue GSD and her rehab training is my primary focus right now, but in the not-too-distant future I would like to own as perfect a GSD as I can find.  I know yours will be the only kennel I look to when I'm ready for my new pup.

Thank you for promoting and caring for the GSD breed.  If only others were more like you!

Sincerely,

Good morning Cindy!

Was visiting your website, again, and thought I'd give you an update on our Maddie...

Maddie and I are starting obedience training on Feb 7th and I'm really excited.  She will thrive there, I know and I will learn so much.  They also do the Canine Good Citizenship training and agility as well and that is something I want to get involved in as well.

She is an awesome addition to our family and she is definitely the princess around here.  She follows Steve everywhere and has her special spot on the couch downstairs where she sleeps while the boys are down there playing.

I wanted to ask you.  We are feeding her the Royal Canin as you instructed and I usually add veggies or other real foods to her food in the a.m. - she loves her mealtime!  I also bought some of the Nature's Recipe canned but wasn't sure if she could eat all the varieties or if I should stick to a specific variety.  I bought the "allergy" and "healthy skin" but wanted to ask you to be sure.

We are feeding her once a day in the a.m. and walking her regularly to ensure she maintains her "waistline" and remains healthy and active.

Anyway, just wanted to give you the update and ask about the food - I will email you photos from "school" once we get started..

Thank you, again, for bringing Maddie into our lives.. we just adore her.
Lisa R.
(Steve and Steven, too!)

Cindy,
Just wanted to you to know how much I love Kagaston, he is the love of my life!  He just turned 12 months old and he weighs about 92 pounds.  He is my constant companion which makes my husband jealous.  He passed his beginning obedience training.  He listens to verbal and hand signals.  When my husband and I take our walk, I bring Kagaston and he brings his Golden "Casey".  Cars/trucks/SUVs stopped on the side of the road to admire Kagaston.  He is magnificent looking.  My husband feels slighted ha!   Even the vet and the vet technicians love Kagaston.  He likes to stand up with his paws on the counter and "smile", knowing that they will give him a treat.
I have never allowed a dog on the bed until now.  He is my soul mate, sometimes I think he knows what I am going to do or say to him.  I think he has me wrapped around his paw but that's OK, I am enjoying it.  I can not say enough about my baby.
Thanks for making a dream come true.

Sincerely, Andrea

Hello Cindy,

WHAT A PUPPY!!!  We have been having so much fun with Falk.  He is either sitting still or he is going a 100 miles per hour.  He loves chasing us or playing with a multitude of toys.  He clearly has a good confident attitude.  Toni really loves the way he follows her around the house or when he is playing with toys he still watches our every move.

I took some great digital photos of him yesterday and today.  I just have to find the time to load them up on CD and email you a few of them.

He has been real good at night when he needs to go outside he wakes us up.  After he does his duty and we go back to the kennel he expects no less than five minutes of loving.

I took Falk to the vet this morning and of course all went well.   The more I watch Falk I know it would be a terrible waste if we do not challenge him to the fullest with the training and testing.  As we accomplish the goals, obviously I would want to work closely with you for the final Schutzhund trials and possibly breeding.

Thank you so much,

George & Toni

Dear Cindy:

Time flies.  Today is Polly's 2nd birthday.  She is beautiful, smart and so fun-loving.  We can't imagine life without her!!  Here are two recent pictures:  one from the last big snow and one from 3 days ago.  Hope all is well with you.  We visit your site at least once a week.

Dear Cindy,

I just wanted you to know how pleased we are with Arich (Harley) and what a wonderful addition he is to our family.  He is always happy, he always wants to play.  He has more energy than anyone.  His temperament is second to none and have I mentioned how gorgeous he is?  One of our neighbors said he was the perfect specimen of what a true German Shepherd should look like.  He is always kind to everyone; kids, other
dogs, puppies and our two cats.  Thank you!
